R880 Clonakilty Drainage & Resurfacing Scheme

This project primarily consisted of the construction of flood relief measures and the reconstruction of the services and hard landscaping within the Main Street running through the busy tourist town of Clonakilty, Co. Cork.
Works included laying a 1200mm diameter surface water pipe and 300mm diameter watermain along the main street, constructing a number of large in-situ concrete structures which required significant temporary works (including sheet piled cofferdam), constructing c.3000sq.m natural stone pavements and c.7000sq.m coloured asphalt roadway, installation of soft landscaping and street furniture and all within a busy urban environment necessitating significant traffic and pedestrian management measures.
