Ballinrea Road, Ashgrove Roundabout and Cork Road Upgrade

This project delivers enhanced pedestrian & cyclist connectivity on all approaches to the Ashgrove Roundabout and along the Ballinrea Road towards the Dept. of Education’s new €34m multi-facility campus, improves the capacity of the existing Ashgrove Roundabout and also improves pedestrian links to bus facilities.
Significant traffic management measures were required in order to maintain two-way flows throughout the works considering the high volume of traffic (AADT >30,000 vehicles).
