Project involved modifications to existing roads and streets to cater for new cycle route in Cork City Centre. Scope of works included the following:
- significant traffic management in a busy city centre site
- removal and reinstatement of road markings/coloured surfacing and installation of new road signage and street furniture
- construction of kerbing and surfacing for new cycle lane
- installation of new traffic signals at 20no. junctions including all civil and electrical works and co-ordination with Cork City Council control system
- construction of new pedestrian crossings including raised table top construction for safety of pedestrians/cyclists
- modifications to existing road and junction geometrics including installation of new kerbing and footpaths
- modifications to existing drainage and services networks including installation of new drainage, ducting, manholes and chambers
- installation of new public lighting and CCTV columns including installation of all cabling and provision of power supplies and co-ordination with Cork City Council control system
- repair, remediation and reconstruction of existing and new road surfaces including > 20,000sq.m of blacktop surfacing and > 750sq.m of imprinted asphalt surfacing
- repair, remediation and reconstruction of existing and new footpaths including construction of > 1,000sq.m of PCC paving, > 1,500sq.m of natural stone paving and > 3,000sq.m of in-situ concrete footpaths
