Project consisted of the laying of >10km of new distribution and trunk watermains at various locations throughout Cork City Centre. Pipes were laid using either traditional open-cut method or by employing trenchless techniques (pipe-bursting, slip-lining & directional drilling). Works also included the installation of >1,600 new service pipe connections and boundary boxes and private side reconfiguration works. Due to the location and nature of the site (busy city centre streets, narrow roadways, dense residential & commercial areas), significant factors in the execution of the works included traffic management, logistics management, public relations, key stakeholder management and dealing with existing services.
