This project involved a major upgrade of the urban streetscape through Ballincollig Town Centre including the installation of new watermains, foul and storm sewer networks, utility networks, new public lighting network, new street furniture, landscaping works, alterations to junctions including upgrade of traffic signals system and the construction of >40,000sq.m of new roadway (including coloured surfacing and imprinted asphalt) and >25,000sq.m of new footpaths (in-situ concrete and paved). This contract was undertaken in an extremely busy urban environment necessitating very significant traffic and stakeholder management measures.
