McGinty & O’Shea Ltd. recently completed the multi-million euro Togher Flood Relief Scheme on behalf of client Cork City Council and designers Arup. This long-awaited and critical infrastructural project primarily involved the construction of a new precast concrete flood relief culvert (>600m long x 3.6m wide x 2.0m high) in the busy suburb of Togher on the outskirts of Cork City. Works also included the construction of an in-situ concrete intake structure and trash screen, in-situ concrete flood defence walls, drainage and utility diversions and the construction of a new public realm along the route.
